Mark Boguniewicz, MD, Earns Distinguished Clinician Award

Mark Boguniewicz, MD, Professor of Pediatrics at National Jewish Health, received the 2013 Distinguished Clinician Award from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI).

He was chosen in recognition of contributions toward cutting-edge clinical and translational research in atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema.

“The award is very special and humbling as it represents recognition by one’s peers, some of the most outstanding allergists in the world,” said Dr. Boguniewicz. “While this was an individual award, I have been fortunate to work in a unique multidisciplinary setting at National Jewish Health with many outstanding health care providers who have been incredibly dedicated to helping the patients entrusted to our care.”

Dr. Boguniewicz, who has been listed in Best Doctors in America for the past 10 years, is a fellow of the AAAAI and past chair of the Eczema Committee. He is also a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and has served on various professional committees. Dr. Boguniewicz is an investigator of the NIH Atopic Dermatitis Research Network, has been a lecturer at national and international meetings, and is the author of over 300 published peer-reviewed articles, reviews, book chapters and abstracts.

He has also been honored by his peers at National Jewish Health as the three-time recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award and the Faculty Clinician of the Year Award. In 2006, he delivered the Richard S. Farr Memorial Lecture at the AAAAI annual meeting.

The AAAAI represents allergists, asthma specialists, clinical immunologists, allied health professionals and others with a special interest in the research and treatment of allergic and immunologic diseases.
