The President’s Award, presented by the president of the institution, pays tribute to individuals and organizations whose support of National Jewish Health has furthered the institution’s mission and vision.
The President’s Award is symbolized in a beautiful sculpture by Joel Mosko, MD, (1912-1994). The sculpture is entitled “Romeo and Juliet” and represents living life with energy, enthusiasm, humility and compassion. It is a tribute to the passionate pursuit of one’s work.
Award Recipient
Recipients of the President’s Award have shown significant leadership in an area that has impacted our reputation, service, science or mission.
2018 Recipient: Robert Helpern, Esq.
Mr. Helpern is dedicated to helping National Jewish Health raise money and awareness to find a cure for asthma. He served as co-chair of the National Jewish Health Fund to Cure Asthma Golf Tournament for 15 years. He continues to serve as a National Trustee of the hospital, a position he has held for more than a decade.
He fills these roles with his innate generosity and enthusiasm, which has helped bring us within reach of curing the most severe, life-threatening asthma. His efforts have benefited a great number of people who now breathe easier because of the research supported by the Fund to Cure Asthma.
In appreciation of his hard work year after year, National Jewish Health honored Mr. Helpern with the President’s Award at the 2018 Fund to Cure Asthma Golf Tournament.
