Sam Rascoff, a leading expert on national security law, is Professor of Law at New York University. Since 2008 he has also served as a Senior Counselor at Palantir Technologies. Educated at Harvard, Oxford, and Yale Law School, Rascoff previously served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice David Souter. He was also the Director of Intelligence Analysis at the New York City Police Department where he ran a team that was responsible for tracking terrorism threats to the city.

Sam and his wife Lauren (a Urogynecologist) and their children moved to Denver a decade ago.
