National Jewish Health Welcomes Occupational and Environmental Medicine Specialist Erin Bammann, MD



DENVER - National Jewish Health announces Erin Bammann, MD, a board-certified physician in occupational and environmental medicine, has joined the institution.

Dr. Bammann specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of work-related injury and illness, with a focus on improving the health and safety of working populations. Her clinical and research interests include evaluation and treatment of illness or disease related to occupational exposures, environmental exposures, and strategies to reduce risk and improve outcomes for workers across industries.

Dr. Bammann completed her occupational and environmental medicine residency at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, where she served as chief resident from July 2024 to July 2025. She also completed an internal medicine internship at University of Colorado Hospital.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She also received a Master of Public Health from the Colorado School of Public Health with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health, along with a Certificate in Total Worker Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Indiana University Bloomington, where she was a recipient of the IU Excellence Scholarship and completed a minor in Spanish.

Dr. Bammann is licensed to practice medicine in Colorado and holds certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support. She is fluent in Spanish and has worked as a Spanish-English medical interpreter in the past.

Her academic work includes peer-reviewed research on bloodborne pathogen exposure reporting and occupational health systems, with publications in the American Journal of Infection Control. She has presented nationally on occupational exposures, environmental health, and clinical case studies and has received multiple honors, including the Outstanding Climate Change and Health Poster award at the Mountain and Plains ERC Research Day Symposium.

Dr. Bammann is an affiliate member of the Centers for Health, Work and Environment at the Colorado School of Public Health and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

She is passionate about advancing evidence-based care and partnering with employers, organizations, and individuals to improve the health, safety and overall well-being of individuals in the workplace.
