Dr. Kristen Steslow Joins National Jewish Health Neurology & Behavioral Health Team
DENVER - Kristen Steslow, MD, PhD, has joined National Jewish Health as a neurologist in the Division of Neurology & Behavioral Health. Her clinical and academic interests span neurology, bioethics and patient-centered medicine.Dr. Steslow’s clinical practice focuses on headache management, dementia and long-term brain health, with an emphasis on early intervention and lifestyle-based prevention strategies to reduce symptom severity and slow progression of cognitive decline. Her approach integrates exercise therapy, nutrition, sleep hygiene, stress reduction and medication review to help patients preserve memory and function over time. She is committed to empowering patients with tools to protect neurological wellness across the lifespan.
Dr. Steslow attended medical school at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead, New York, and completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colorado.
Dr. Steslow completed academic and research appointments at the University of Otago Bioethics Centre in Dunedin, New Zealand, and at the University of Redlands in Redlands, California, where she also served as an advisor, educator, and clinical ethics researcher. She provided clinical support through psychiatric outreach programs for patients experiencing homelessness in New York and served as a clinic corps member for the Free Medical Student Clinic at Northwell Health in Manhasset, New York.
