16th Annual National Jewish Health New York Golf Outing Raises $350,000 for Asthma Treatment

The 16^th annual National Jewish Health New York Golf Outing raised nearly $350,000 for The Fund to Cure Asthma at National Jewish Health, the number one respiratory hospital in the nation. The event took place July 9 at Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, N.Y.

 Since 1996, the New York Golf Outing has raised more than $5 million for The Fund to Cure Asthma through this tournament. The fund supports the work of physicians and scientists at National Jewish Health who seek to better understand, treat and eventually cure the more than 34 million Americans, including 9.6 million children, who suffer from asthma. In the past 20 years, the prevalence of asthma in America has increased 75 percent.

New York Golf Outing  tournament sponsors and attendees are among the leaders of New York’s real estate, financial and investment industries. This year, co-chairs were Robert E. Helpern, Partner of Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse & Hirschtritt LLP and a National Jewish Health Trustee; Stephen  Siegel, Global Brokerage Chairman of CB Richard Ellis Inc., and co-chair of the National Jewish Health Council of National Trustees; and Chairman Emeritus Samuel Lewis, President of Goodstein Division/Cooper Square Realty Inc. and a National Jewish Health Trustee.

The Fund to Cure Asthma was founded by Nancy and James Berry Hill, a National Jewish Health Trustee, and Marjorie and Stephen Raphael, who is also a National Jewish Health Trustee.
