Fifth Annual Aspen Bella Sera on August 9 honors local philanthropists and benefits National Jewish

DENVER —

National Jewish Health will honor Betty Weiss and Betty and Bob Gates at the fifth annual Bella Sera event on Aug. 9 at Maroon Creek Club in Aspen. Weiss is a long-time Aspen resident, philanthropist and world-renowned painter and mixed media artist and the Gateses are Aspen residents and successful former investment banking and real estate leaders. All three honorees are strong supporters of National Jewish Health and the Aspen community.

 

The elegant Bella Sera event will benefit National Jewish Health, which is known worldwide for treatment of patients with respiratory, cardiac, immune and related disorders, and for groundbreaking medical research. Since 1998, U.S. News & World Report has ranked National Jewish Health the #1 respiratory hospital in the nation.

National Jewish Health has clinics for adults and children in Aspen, Basalt and New Castle. The institution’s physicians work closely with local doctors in the Aspen Valley to provide treatment for patients with COPD, asthma, atopic dermatitis, food allergies, rhinitis, immune disorders and recurrent infections.

Co-chairs of the cocktail party include previous honorees Denise and Warren Cohen, Barbara and Aaron Fleck, Alex Kaufman, and Madeleine and Karl Larson. Other co-chairs are National Jewish Health supporters Patricia and Richard Kent, Natasha Kerek, Dorothy and Hal Thau, and Kathy Weiss and Dick Stephenson.
