Department of Radiology
Seth Kligerman, MD Professor and Chair
What do we do? The Department of Radiology at National Jewish Health performs imaging studies and provides interpretations of those studies. Our highly experienced team of radiology technologists and radiologists are experts in imaging the chest. We specialize in interpreting imaging studies of the chest including chest x-rays, chest CT scans, PET/CT scans, MRI, and nuclear medicine studies. We are renowned for our expertise in thoracic imaging and have a proven track record of identifying diseases others have missed.
Why National Jewish Health? At National Jewish Health we image more lungs than any other organization in the nation. Our narrow focus on the lungs and our collaborative relationships with our clinical experts across the spectrum of care, means you are in the best hands for finding an accurate diagnosis. Knowing the correct diagnosis leads to more effective treatment and better outcomes.
Ranked #1 or #2 in Pulmonology by U.S. News & World Report for 26 consecutive years
Designated Lung Cancer Screening Center by American College of Radiology
Recognized as a Screening Center of Excellence by the GO2 Foundation for Lung Cancer
In 2009, we established a Radiation Dose Reduction Task Force, which implemented strategies and technology to perform and encourage low-dose imaging, maintain American College of Radiology accreditation and ensure every patient gets the right exam for the right reason at the right time by the right protocol and with the right dose. We are a supporter of Image Gently through the Alliance for Radiation Safety.
The National Jewish Health Department of Radiology includes seven on-site fellowship trained cardiothoracic radiologists. In addition, we have 26 consultant radiologists in pediatric radiology, neuroradiology and musculoskeletal radiology.
