  I could write an essay on how wonderful a practitioner Dr. Galant-Swafford is: her intelligence, wisdom, compassion, and ingenuity all align to make working with her nothing short of amazing. She has assisted with diagnosis and disease stabilization, and as a result I'm living a fuller life with less limits, which is incredible. She empowers me to try different modalities, and gives me freedom to experiment with dosing (where appropriate) as mast cell activation syndrome is very individualized. She is responsive in the portal so that I'm able to get her guidance in between appointments, which helps me manage my disease better and minimize flares. Using the portal also helps us make our appointment times more efficient and meaningful, and her entire staff is always responsive and kind. I'm so, so grateful to have her as part of my care team!

  I was a little intimidated by the doctor. She wanted us to go on IvG therapy but it is so expensive. We have since seen a local doctor and they explained much more about the therapy and possibly how to afford it. It is difficult to always see a new doctor at national Jewish when we come each year. I do not feel like anyone really knows my son there like they did when Dr. Gelfand was there, yet dr. Gallant was obviously very knowledgeable and we so appreciate that.

  She asked a lot of questions to attempt to fully understand what the cause might be for my chronic runny nose. She explained all of the triggers of non-allergic rhinitis and drew diagrams which she gave me. She recommended changes in a nasal spray that was prescribed by another physician and explained that it was alcohol based and the two she recommended were water based. She also recommended using the neti-pot twice a day instead of once a day. I was very impressed that she took the time to explain everything to me and I have seen significant improvement with the changes that she recommended.

  Again, expectations that my written history would be read in advance and that the appointment would be 90 minutes, combined to affect my experience. If the end had been less abrupt, I could've been told to communicate through the portal, and gain more understanding about what I needed to know. Instead, a relatively "Very Good" appointment ended abruptly and made it seem only "Fair". But independent of these complications, I'd really rate her as "Very Good" all around!
