Special Interests
Research Interests
My research interest is in the area of lung inflammation and repair. Specifically I am interested in the role of lung vasculature in repair mechanisms following acute inflammatory injury characterized by fibrosis. This includes studying angiogenesis and endothelial cell apoptosis over the course of inflammation and fibroproliferation in animal models of lung injury. I am also interested in the signaling mechanisms that drive vascular changes in the lung during the development of fibrosis including the role of distinct cell types such as macrophages and lymphoctyes.
Clinical Interests
My clinical interests are interstitial lung diseases and vascular lung diseases. I am also interested in critical care medicine, particularly the mangement of septic shock and ARDS.

National Jewish Health Patient – August, 2022
In all my time discussing my problems with NJH's doctors and nurse practioner's I have gotten the distinct impression that they are all very rushed. They do take a lot of time with me, and they do answer the questions I have thoroughly but at the end it always feels like I still have about 5 or 10 questions I would like to address and they are simply out of time. They have to wrap it up and get on to the next patient. I'm not sure there is anything they or you can do about it and still take care of as many patients who obviously need your help - just an observation.

National Jewish Health Patient – March, 2022
After 15 years with Dr. Swigris, this was my first appointment with Dr. Yunt. She was very thorough, we spent an hour discussing my condition. I had COVID last Sep and in the process, they performed an ECHO and noted an enlarged heart as a possibility. Because Dr. Yunt wanted more Information related to that so she ordered an ECHO to be performed before she and I met. The previous evaluation of right-side heart enlargement proved to be inaccurate which Is excellent news for IPF patients. We discussed disease progression and she set up an appointment with Supportive Care. I received excellent care.
-
National Jewish Health Patient – March, 2022
I was very disappointed with this care provider because it was my first visit with her and I was expecting to spend some time with her to know each other and most important to talk about my condition and the new medicine because I have concerns but that never happened, after about 20 minutes of waiting In the clinic a nurse practitioner showed ( very nice by the way ], and spent some time with me, I don't remember what we talked about, then Dr. Yunt showed with a prospect nurse and someone else, spent about 10 mins in the room and left; she only told me that I was going to start this new treatment nothing else; she was in a rush, slo I never had a chance to ask questions or get a lkittle more personal.
