Special Interests

Research Interests

My research interest is in the area of lung inflammation and repair.  Specifically I am interested in the role of lung vasculature in repair mechanisms following acute inflammatory injury characterized by fibrosis.  This includes studying angiogenesis and endothelial cell apoptosis over the course of inflammation and fibroproliferation in animal models of lung injury.  I am also interested in the signaling mechanisms that drive vascular changes in the lung during the development of fibrosis including the role of distinct cell types such as macrophages and lymphoctyes.

Clinical Interests

My clinical interests are interstitial lung diseases and vascular lung diseases.  I am also interested in critical care medicine, particularly the mangement of septic shock and ARDS.

Dr. Yunt spent a great deal of time with me and my husband in our initial meeting. She explained and also asked questions so that she could follow through withmy treatment. i finally feel that a doctor cares and has my interests at heart. The follow up is amazing. National Jewish Health is the gold standard of care.

I was asked to stop by the lab [PHI] and told Dr. Yunt I would be doing that. She called me the next day, herself not a Nurse or aide, to tell me a concern she has with one of the blood tests that was done. Made me feel she thought I was important enough to follow on her own. None of the other Doctors I see there have ever done that. I appreciate Dr. Yunt's bedside manner and feel like she really cares!

The great experience was how well Dr Yunt explained the 3 basic causes for my [CONDITION] and the treatments and next steps. This was not previously done by any of my doctors.
