Specifically I am interested in the role of lung vasculature in repair mechanisms following acute inflammatory injury characterized by fibrosis. This includes studying angiogenesis and endothelial cell apoptosis over the course of inflammation and fibroproliferation in animal models of lung injury. I am also interested in the signaling mechanisms that drive vascular changes in the lung during the development of fibrosis including the role of distinct cell types such as macrophages and lymphoctyes. Clinical Interests My clinical interests are interstitial lung diseases and vascular lung diseases. I am also interested in critical care medicine, particularly the mangement of septic shock and ARDS.
