Mineral Dust & Lung Disease

Trial Objective

MinersThe purpose of this study is to better understand lung diseases that develop from inhaling mineral dust over time.

Although the causes of diseases such as "black lung" and silicosis are known, it is not well understood why some people get these diseases and others don't or how stopping exposure to mineral dust may affect the severity of these diseases. This study will be conducted through phone interviews with participants. The information our researchers collect will be used to learn more about lung diseases with workplace exposure to mineral dusts.
