Special Interests
The Barr lab studies mechanisms of lung repair focusing on immune interactions with structural cells of the lung. Specific interests include unique airway cell types, including tuft and microfold cells, that emerge after influenza infection in response to immune-associated signaling. We investigate lung disease associated programs using a combination of genetic mouse models, human cell culture and single-cell genomic profiling. Through disease modeling, we investigate fundamental biology with the goal of improving respiratory health.
