National Jewish Health (NJH) fosters a research environment that promotes respect for the rights and welfare of individuals recruited for, or participating in, research conducted by or under the auspices of the Organization. In support of this, NJH has established a Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). The NJH HRPP, in partnership with its research community, is responsible for ensuring the ethical and equitable treatment of all human subjects in research conducted under NJH’s auspices.
The National Jewish Health HRPP website is designed to assist investigators and research staff with information on the regulatory procedures and requirements for conducting human subject research.
National Jewish Health is a member of the SmartIRB Reliance platform.
Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY) IRB now serving as NJH’s Local IRB of Record
We are happy to report that we have made the decision to enter into an agreement with the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY) to serve as our Institutional Review Board.
BRANY was founded by, and continues to be overseen by, a consortium of academic medical centers including NYU School of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. BRANY has access to all the experts within their academic partners to supplement their IRB’s expertise. BRANY has demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding the interests of human research participants by achieving accreditation from the Partnership of Human Research Protections (PHRP) in April 2004. Additionally, BRANY has maintained full accreditation from AAHRPP since 2006.
