This external advisory committee assists in evaluating the scientific progress of each project, the relevance of the individual organizational components to the overall goals of the program, the ability of the program to enhance the function of its individual components, and the effectiveness of the newly recruited scientists.  The scientists we chose for this advisory committee are internationally recognized experts in childhood asthma, innate immunity, inhalation toxicology, airway biology, and community-based participatory research.  In addition, one member of the COTC Community Advisory Board will serve on the External Advisory Committee.  This committee will meet annually in Denver to formally assess the progress of the program.  Members will serve a total of 2-3 years.
