Several tests can be used in the diagnosis of hypersensitivity pneumonitis:
  • Imaging such as a chest X-ray or high resolution chest CT scan

  • Pulmonary function tests

  • Cardiopulmonary exercise testing

  • Bronchoscopy

  • Blood tests such as antibody panels

  • Sometimes, surgical lung biopsy is necessary to confirm the diagnosis of HP
