Eight of Denver’s most prominent business leaders will join the prestigious group of Beaux Arts Ball grand marshals, honored for their business, community and philanthropic leadership. Serving as the 2018 grand marshals, are Michelle and Mike Fries, with Liberty Global; Gail Klapper, with Colorado Forum, and Jack Klapper, with Mile High Research Center; Karen and Michael Long, with Arrow Electronics; Susan Juroe and former National Jewish Health President Michael Schonbrun, with Balfour Senior Living.

Helping Children Breathe Easy

The Beaux Arts Ball is the largest fundraising event for National Jewish Health in Denver. Each year, the black-tie gala raises $2 million or more to benefit patients with respiratory, cardiac, immune and related diseases and to support groundbreaking research conducted at National Jewish Health.

Guests at the Beaux Arts Ball will have the opportunity to help the youngest patients at National Jewish Health through this year’s Fund-A-Need reverse paddle-raising program. Every day, millions of children struggle to breathe because of lung disease. Many other children go from doctor to doctor trying to find out why they can’t breathe.

The National Jewish Health Silverstein Family Department of Pediatrics draws children and families from all over the world. There, they receive care from world-renowned pediatric specialists who are setting the guidelines in respiratory medicine. Gifts to this year’s Fund-A-Need will enable these physicians to continue to treat all pediatric patients with lung conditions, regardless of their ability to pay, and conduct groundbreaking research to help children breathe easier.
