U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals List

National Jewish Health has been named the top respiratory hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its 2017 Best Hospitals rankings. National Jewish Health has ranked #1 or #2 all 21 years that U.S. News has ranked pulmonology in its Best Hospitals list. This year is the 16th year the organization has been in the #1 spot. Since 2011, U.S. News has ranked National Jewish Health together with its academic affiliate the University of Colorado Hospital.

“We are proud to be recognized as the leading respiratory hospital in the nation,” said Michael Salem, MD, President and CEO of National Jewish Health. “The U.S. News ranking is one of many measures, including patient satisfaction surveys, research grants, publications and many others, which place us at the forefront of respiratory care and research.”

The U.S. News rankings are based on a combination of factors, including recognition by pulmonologists across the nation, patient volume, safety, survival, advanced technology and patient services.

National Jewish Health was also recognized as “High Performing,” the best rating available, for care of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and for lung cancer surgery in the magazine’s Common Adult Conditions and Procedures categories.
