COPD Support Group (Adult class)

(2nd Thursday of every month, 2-3pm)

The meetings will include an educational presentation (a different topic each meeting), followed by open discussion of any topic.

This monthly event takes place the second Thursday of every month from 2-3 p.m. at:

CPAP Support Group (Adult class)

(One Saturday of every month, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. (with a few exceptions))

Have you been diagnosed with sleep apnea?
Have you been scheduled for a sleep study?
Are you using CPAP?
Are you struggling with CPAP?

Join us for one of our support groups, free and open to the public. Untreated sleep apnea can lead to serious medical issues such as:

  • high blood pressure
  • heart disease
  • heart attacks
  • irregular heart rhythms
  • strokes

  • Free blood pressure checks
  • Free CPAP equipment checks
  • Meet with local equipment companies

All About Sleep Apnea Class (Adult class)

(Tuesdays from 3:30–4:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 3:30–4:30 p.m. (with a few exceptions))

The All About Sleep Apnea class is an educational class for patients with sleep apnea and their families.

Meetings will include:

  • What is sleep apnea?
  • What causes sleep apnea?
  • What are the symptoms and consequences of sleep apnea?
  • What are your treatment options?
  • What else can you do to help your sleep apnea?

RSVP is required. Please call ahead of time to confirm this week’s class schedule at 303.270.2708.

Getting to the Meeting Room: Go in the main entrance and take the Galter elevator down to the basement. Follow the signs to the Sleep Clinic check-in desk.

Diabetes Support Group ( class)

(1st Saturday of every month,10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.)

Provides education on diabetes topics. Talk with others who have diabetes and discover useful ways to succeed in taking care of your own diabetes.

The class and support group are meant for those:
  • Diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes
  • Who need to learn or review self-management skills
  • Who desire better blood sugar control
  • Who have a family member with prediabetes or diabetes

You will walk away feeling more confident to take care of your diabetes!

Joe Walsh Memorial Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group (Adult class)

(Second Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Molly Blank, Room J105)

The Joe Walsh Memorial Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group at National Jewish Health provides a safe, secure environment for all patients with any type of pulmonary fibrosis and their family members, care providers and significant others.

The meetings will provide a different topic each month with open discussion at the end of the meeting.

This event is open to patients of National Jewish Health, as well as visitors and community members. All are welcome!

Lung Cancer Support Group ( class)

(3rd Thursday of every month, 2pm-3pm.)

Lung cancer patients and survivors and their caregivers and family members are invited to attend.  The meetings will include a 30-minute educational presentation (a different topic each meeting), followed by open discussion of any topic. The group is open to people who have received treatment at National Jewish Health and elsewhere.

Mile-High Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group ( class)

(Last Tuesday of every month, 2-3:30pm February - November.)

The Mile-High Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group in Wheat Ridge, CO is dedicated to improving understanding of ILD & PF through education, emotional support and counseling for the patient, caregivers & significant others. It is important for the patient and family to stay informed about treatment options, exercise, diet, oxygen and clinical trials.

Transitioning to Plant-Based Eating Support Group (Adult class)

Transitioning to Plant-Based EatingThe Transitioning to Plant-Based Eating Support Group provides education and support to those wishing to eat more plant-based. Whether you need to adopt this lifestyle due to health conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, being overweight, etc., or you want to eat plant-based for other reasons, this group can help. Interact with experts who can help you get on a path that is sustainable, creates healthy change and handles challenges that may arise. Be with people who share your interest and who want to hear about your successes and help with roadblocks.

Weight Loss Support Group (Adult class)

(Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.)

Meetings held on Sundays once a month at 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This is about you and your health. This is not a quick fix. We will explore the reasons behind overweight and weight gain, the benefits of weight loss, and focus on real solutions for the long-term. Come ready to listen, problem-solve and share. Learn from us, learn from each other, and start taking steps towards a healthier you.

FREE and open to patients and employees of National Jewish Health

  • No RSVP is needed, just show up!
  • Optional private weigh-ins, waist measurements and blood pressure checks
