Dr. Smarika Sapkota Joins National Jewish Health Rheumatology Team


DENVER —

Smarika Sapkota, MD, has joined the National Jewish Health team as a rheumatologist in the Department of Medicine. Her areas of expertise include Musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound, autoimmune lung diseases, inflammatory myopathies, interstitial lung disease (ILD), rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Dr. Sapkota sees patients on the National Jewish Health campus in Denver.

Dr. Sapkota completed her fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colorado. She has conducted studies involving Clostridioides difficile (C.diff) and bone marrow research. Dr. Sapkota’s wide range of studies and experience uniquely qualifies her to treat patients with more complex medical issues.

Dr. Sapkota received her medical degree from Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences in Dhulikel, Nepal, and completed her residency at University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
