Description
Collect
One (1) green top tube (Sodium or Lithium Heparin) top tube.
Specimen Preparation
Do NOT centrifuge! Keep at room temperature (18-22°C).
Preferred volume: 4mL
Pediatric Collection
Minimum volume: 2mL blood
Unacceptable Conditions
Frozen, clotted, hemolyzed or centrifuged specimens. Anticoagulants other than heparin. Specimens >24 hrs old.
Storage Transport Temp
Maintain and transport specimens at room temperature (18-22°C).
Ship specimens Priority Overnight via Fed Ex in container sufficiently insulated to avoid temperature extremes (<10°C and >37°C).
Stability
48 hours at room temperature (18-22°C)
Notes
Samples accepted Monday - Friday, no later than 12:00pm on Friday.
When shipping specimens, please also include one sample from a healthy, unrelated adult to serve as a transport control.

>98% of cells reducing the dye
Interpretation
This test supports the diagnosis of X-linked or autosomal recessive chronic granulomatous disease.
