LCAND
Shipments greater than 15 need to be scheduled with lab prior to sending.
Description
This assay assesses the ability of T lymphocytes to respond to antigenic stimulation with Candida albicans. The test is used to evaluate patient immune status and responsiveness.Collect
Draw whole blood into Sodium Heparin (green top) tube.Patient Prep
Preferred volume: 10 mLPediatric Collection
Minimum volume: 2-3 mL blood
Unacceptable Conditions
Centrifuged specimens, specimens received after 30 hours of draw, frozen specimens, specimens in lithium heparin, specimens in tubes with gel such as SSTs and PSTs.
Storage Transport Temp
Maintain and transport specimens at room temperature (18-22°C).
Ship specimens Priority Overnight via Fed Ex in container sufficiently insulated to avoid temperature extremes (<10°C and >37°C).
Stability
30 hours at room temperature (18-22°C)
