Collect

Collect a 24 hour urine sample.

Specimen Preparation

Onsite [NJH]: Transport to lab within 1 hour.
Preferred volume: 1 mL aliquot of urine from a well mixed 24 hour collection in a labeled polypropylene or similar plastic tube.

Pediatric Collection

Minimum Volume: 0.3 mL aliquot of urine from a well-mixed 24 hour collection.

Storage Transport Temp

Offsite: Frozen. Send urine aliquot Priority Overnight via FedEx and in a well insulated container and on dry ice.

Stability

Analyze Immediately at RT (15-25°C)
48 hours refrigerated at 2-8°C

Notes

24 hour urine sample is the only acceptable sample type.
