Positive Behavior Intervention Support

Morgridge Academy is a Colorado Department of Education approved P.B.I.S. site. P.B.I.S. stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Support. Research has shown that P.B.I.S. helps alleviate many of the day to day behavior problems that schools deal with on a regular basis. We are focusing on three positively stated behavioral expectations. Students have been taught these expectations (PDF) for the various areas of the building - classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, cafeteria, etc.

Our expectations are included in the acronym, R.A.P. This stands for Respect, Always be safe, and Participate. Children are awarded R.A.P. points for positive behavior throughout the day and go shopping twice a month at the school store with their points.  Parents and students can check their points by going to https://www.pbisrewards.com/login/.  If you need help logging in, please ask Ms. Katie at tiltonk@njhealth.org.

We also have a full-time Child Advocate and a Social Worker who are available to counsel the students on a daily basis and/or weekly basis. Classroom group sessions are held in each class to address issues that arise. Our Child Advocate is available to meet with families during the week should a need arise at home that needs to be addressed.
