The Iseman HPC system at National Jewish Health is a cutting-edge computing platform designed to support advanced research. Tailored for statistical analyses and bioinformatics data processing, Iseman provides the computational power and flexibility required for today’s most demanding research tasks.

  • High Compute Power and GPU Capabilities: Iseman offers over 2000 compute cores and 18 TiB of total memory, with the largest individual node featuring 1.5 TiB of memory—perfect for large-scale computations and data-intensive workflows.  In addition, Iseman offers GPU capabilities to deliver the performance needed for cutting-edge AI research, giving the researchers the flexibility to run both traditional high-performance tasks and modern GPU-driven workloads. 
  • Lightning-Fast Data Access: With integration to the Research Data Storage (RDS) system, Iseman provides blazing-fast 40 GB/s data throughput, ensuring quick and efficient access to even the largest datasets.
  • Flexible Access Options:
    • Regular access is available via SSH for command-line operations.
    • We offer a web interface powered by Open OnDemand, enabling access to tools such as RStudio and Desktop VDI, making the system easily accessible to users of varying technical expertise.
  • Batch Processing with SLURM: Iseman uses SLURM for batch processing, ensuring optimal scheduling of resources and efficient handling of high-volume computational jobs.
  • Condo Model: Iseman operates on a condo model, allowing researchers to purchase and own nodes within the cluster, providing guaranteed, dedicated computational resources for their specific projects.
  • Bioinformatics Focus: Optimized for bioinformatics and statistical computing, Iseman is ideal for research fields like genomics, proteomics, and biostatistics.
