NJH Biorepository (Biobank)
The National Jewish Health Integrated Bioinformation and Specimen Center is an institutionally-supported resource that collects and stores biological specimens—such as tissue, fluids, and DNA—along with rich clinical data from thousands of consented patients.
RICC assists NJH-affiliated researchers in identifying biospecimens that meet specific clinical and research criteria. Our data team helps during the early stages of study planning by estimating the number of available samples that match inclusion criteria, allowing investigators to assess feasibility before initiating a project.
How to Request Samples:
- Study Planning - Contact the RICC data team to explore available biospecimens that meet the study’s inclusion, allowing investigators to assess feasibility before initiating a project.
- Prepare Required Approvals and Forms
- Obtain IRB approval or Honest Broker determination.
- Complete and submit an Access to BioBank Application
- Sample Request Review - The NJH Sample Board will review your application for approval.
- Sample Coordination - Upon NJH Sample Board approval, RICC will provide the list of eligible sample IDs to the Biobank team.
- Sample Release - The Biobank team will release the approved samples to the researcher.
