The Granulomatous Exposure-Related Lung Disease Lab in Sarcoidosis and Beryllium Disease processes bronchoalveolar lavage cells and human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), separates out different cell types (such as CD4+ cells), isolates DNA and RNA from the different cell types, runs various flow cytometry panels, and utilizes various PCR applications.
The lab’s biorepository was designed to facilitate future research using biological specimens and associated clinical data such as radiologic data, chronic beryllium disease, beryllium sensitization, non-sensitized beryllium exposure, lung function results and medications from patients with sarcoidosis.
The Granulomatous Exposure-Related Lung Disease Lab in Sarcoidosis and Beryllium Disease is located on the 4th floor of the Smith building on the campus of National Jewish Health.
