Our librarians offer a rotating selection of classes on EndNote, NCBI tools, and other resources used by authors, researchers, and assistants. Classes are all held virtually via Zoom unless stated otherwise and are open to all National Jewish Health employees. Customized group or individual instruction is also available to meet your scheduling needs. Contact Ruby Nugent for more information.

Intro to MyNCBI, SciENcv, and ORCID

The NIH will require the use of updated Common Forms for Biosketch, Current and Pending (Other) Support and NIH Biosketch Supplements to be used for all applications due dates on or after January 25, 2026.
This session is open to everyone and will:
• Review how to create a MyNCBI account with an overview of its dashboard features
• Provide an update for the NIH requirements
• Show how to create/verify individual ORCID accounts
• Provide directions for completing CITI certification and providing proof in their final submission
• Include Q & A time with Michael Dickman who will answer questions related to NJH policy and practices

Learn how to quickly access articles, journals, and other materials through the library. In this session, a librarian will guide you through key databases, tools, and strategies for finding and retrieving full-text resources.
Intro to EndNote

During this hour-long virtual instruction session, attendees will become familiar with the EndNote dashboard, learn to create and utilize groups, practice gathering and importing references, finding full text and downloading PDF articles, inserting citations into manuscripts, and creating a bibliography.

This hour-long session will provide an update on NIH requirements, demonstrate how to set up a MyNCBI account, show how to create and update MyBibliography, give an overview of the SciENcv biosketch form, walk through creating an ORCID account, and answer any questions you may have about the process.
