 Meet our:

 

Administrators

  • John Reid, Director, has his Master's degree in School Administration from the University of Arkansas and has been in the educational field for more than 30 years as a teacher and an administrator. He is originally from Arkansas. He has been with Kunsberg School since 2005.
  • Jessica Hoskins is our administrative assistant in the main office. She has been at National Jewish Health since 2009. She has her teaching license and is currently working on her master's degree in counseling.

 

Teachers 

  • Sue Carrington, MA, graduated from Adam's State with a degree in Special Education. She is currently our 7th and 8th grade teacher.
  • Holly Huppert joined us in the fall of 2008 as our 5th/6th grade teacher. She has traveled all over the world and inspires her class with all of her stories and writing wisdom.
  • Kat Kimling has been our 3rd/4th grade teacher since 2008. Her bright and cheery attitude make her class a fun place to be. Before coming here she worked at the Tennyson Center. She is currently working on her Master's degree in Special Education. 
  • Mary Lou Ray, MA, is the kindergarten and first grade teacher and has worked at Kunsberg School since 2006. She holds a teaching certificate and a Master's degree from the Louisiana State University in Special Education.
  • Lorrie Schroeck, MA, has a Master's in Elementary Education from the University of Florida. She is the 2nd and 3rd grade teacher and has been at Kunsberg School since 1995. 
  • Janet White is our 6th/7th grade teacher. Her students quickly learn to love her gentle and kind spirit. She has worked in schools across the Denver metro area and has been at Kunsberg since 2008.

 

Special Program Instructors

  • Katie Tilton is our Education Media Specialist in the library. She has been at National Jewish Health since 2008 and holds a Colorado Teaching License. She is currently working on her masters in Information Learning Technologies.  
  • Jim Gianvito, MA, has worked as a physical education instructor at Kunsberg School since 1985. He earned a Master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Prior to coming to National Jewish Health, he held the position of Adult Program Director at Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association from 1982-1985. 
  • Mary Morrissey has been the fine arts teacher since December 1999. She has been at Kunsberg School since September of 1985. Prior to becoming the fine arts teacher, Mary worked in a variety of classroom settings in grades 1-12 and as an assistant with testing. Before Kunsberg School, she taught in a parochial school in Illinois.

 

Nurses

  • Michelle Freas, RN, is currently Coordinator of Medical and Health Services at Kunsberg School. She has worked here since 1992 and at National Jewish Health since 1984. She was a pediatric nurse and worked on LUNG LINE here at National Jewish Health.
  • Karen Musselman, RN, is one of our school nurses and has been at Kunsberg School since 1997. Previously, she worked in Pediatrics at Denver Health Medical Center and was a school nurse in Adams County.  She received her RN from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux City, IA, and her BSN from Mesa College in Grand Junction, CO.
  • Amy Schouten, RN, is one of our school nurses and has been with Kunsberg School since 2005. Previously, she was a school nurse for Cherry Creek School District. She has been an RN since 1994, graduating from the University of Colorado. She has also worked in adult orthopedics and internal medicine clinics.

 

Child Advocate

  • Wally Lederer, MA, has worked at National Jewish Health since 1984. He has been at Kunsberg School since 1993. He has his Master’s degree in education and currently serves as our child advocate.   

 

Counselor

  • Andrea Kolber, MA received her Bachelor's degree in business administration from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA in 2005. She later received her Master of Arts in community counseling from Denver Seminary in Littleton, CO, in 2008. She has been a Nationally Certified Counselor since 2009 and a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011.
