NTM Culture, Biorepository and Coordinating Core
The NTM Culture, Biorepository, and Coordinating Core under the direction of Charles L. Daley, MD serves to support the clinical care of CF patients within the CFF Care Center Network, as well as translational research and clinical trials. This Core works in a synchronized fashion with the Molecular and Clinical Research Cores.
Under the direction of Michael Strong, PhD, the primary goal of the Molecular Core is to characterize the diversity and prevalence of NTM species affecting the CF community, and to accurately identify and limit potential instances of patient-to-patient transmission or nosocomial acquisition events in CF Centers.
The Clinical Research Core is led by Stacey Martiniano, MD and Jerry Nick, MD. The Clinical Research Core provides methods and services to CF patients and providers nationwide as well as support to investigators in all aspects of clinical and translational research. The primary goals of the Clinical Core is to provide a coordinated response to NTM infection in the CF population to improve care in the short term and build the foundation for meaningful progress over time in this understudied aspect of CF.
