Lisa Beck, MD, is PI of the Registry Protocol and its Biomarker Repository of serum samples. She is an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Medicine and Director of Translational Research at the University of Rochester. She is a board-certified dermatologist with postdoctoral training in the Division of Clinical Immunology at JHU and has had a longstanding interest in allergic skin inflammation.
Dr. Beck has over 20 years of experience treating subjects with atopic dermatitis who are referred to a tertiary care site. She has experience in pharmaceutical–funded as well as federally-funded clinical trials in allergic and dermatologic diseases. She has also collaborated with industry to explore the immunobiology of several models of cutaneous inflammation.
Dr. Beck is an Associate Editor for the major investigative dermatology journal, the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and has been invited to speak in many named lectureships on immune mechanisms of AD nationally and internationally. She is on the Scientific Advisory Committee for the National Eczema Association for Science and Education (NEA). Her research is currently focused on identifying the barrier and innate immune defects of epidermal cells from atopic dermatitis patients and the role these defects play in the disease.
