September 2019
We work hard every day to provide the highest level of care to our patients. While there are many ways that the efforts of our organizations are recognized, one that we watch for each year is the annual “Best Hospitals” list from U.S. News & World Report.
For the 18th year, National Jewish Health was named the #1 respiratory care hospital in the nation. This award acknowledges the specialty care focus and research leadership that is at the core of the National Jewish Health mission. National Jewish Health was also recognized as “High Performing,” the highest rating available, for lung cancer surgery and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the magazine’s Common Adult Conditions and Procedures.
Likewise, Saint Joseph Hospital has a history of excellence and was named one of the top five hospitals in Colorado on this year’s U.S. News & World Report list. Saint Joseph Hospital also was recognized as “High Performing” in six categories, an amazing achievement, including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement and lung cancer surgery.
Rankings such as these in U.S. News & World Report help drive awareness and recognition for the exceptional work that we do every day. They impact how we are perceived by referring physicians and donors, and they play a role in how prospective patients choose doctors and hospitals. While rankings are not the only measure of our leadership, they do help shape how others view us.
Thank you for the excellence that each and every one of you bring to your jobs every day. Your dedication enables us to make a difference for all of our patients.
Please take a few minutes to look through the stories in this newsletter, which are examples of the amazing work happening through our collaboration.
