It’s been a busy spring! As many of you know our steering committees developed strategic plans for our core programs, including respiratory, cardiovascular, oncology and digestive diseases that were introduced in the first quarter. We are happy to report that our initiatives are having a positive and meaningful impact not only at National Jewish Health and Saint Joseph Hospital, but also throughout the entire SCL Health System. Also, we are poised to grow within our high acuity care programs such as critical care, heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
Among the specific programs that will soon be launched is the Transfer Center. On May 6, SCL Health will change its patient transfer and logistics center to provide better service as well as safer, more efficient patient transfers between SCL Health facilities on the Front Range, including transfers between National Jewish Health and Saint Joseph Hospital. The new service, called SCL Health First Call, is staffed with nurses and emergency medical technicians who have in-depth service line knowledge, which allows them to provide timely and accurate pre-registration services, as well as real-time bed information.
We are excited about the quality of work that is happening between our organizations. We know that we are making a difference for all our patients.
