We are nearing the close of what has been another amazing year for both National Jewish Health and Saint Joseph Hospital and our work together. We’ve grown and strengthened our joint key service lines in cardiovascular, respiratory and cancer care. We have hired a new cardiology chief and have expanded our cardiac programs, including intensive cardiac rehabilitation, electrophysiology and pulmonary hypertension. We have opened a new Respiratory Institute inpatient unit at Saint Joseph Hospital and established a formal extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) program. Collectively, National Jewish Health, Saint Joseph Hospital and the entire SCL Health system received the Lung Cancer Center of Excellence designation from the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation. These are just a few examples of the amazing things we have accomplished this past year.
