After the loss of her brother to cystic fibrosis (CF), Mariana Valencia works hard to stay healthy for her family, despite also having CF. With a resilient spirit and support from her doctors at National Jewish Health and Saint Joseph Hospital, she continues to face her disease with positivity and grace.
In order to offer patients with complex pulmonary conditions comprehensive care, National Jewish Health and Saint Joseph Hospital opened a thoracic surgery program in 2015. Now it is one of the largest programs in the region and leading the way in minimally invasive robotic surgery.
