The Lauren and Adam Schwartz Fund for the Research and Treatment of Immune and Related Disorders

Millions of Americans suffer from immune deficiency, immune dysregulation and autoimmune conditions which may often lead to serious and sometimes fatal results. Just as National Jewish Health is a world leader in treatment and research of respiratory diseases, we are also renowned for our discoveries that help to unravel how the immune system protects us from external threats when it is working and can result in disease when it malfunctions.

We are home to some of the best immunologists in the world, who have impacted the health of millions of adults and children through their work on food-related and other allergic reactions, type 1 diabetes, toxic shock syndrome, vaccines, and aging, to name a few. In addition, we treat and research autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, systemic sclerosis (scleroderma), and sarcoidosis, which often have related lung problems. Further, the COVID pandemic has heightened the importance of advanced study of the immune system.

The monies from The Lauren and Adam Schwartz Fund will help to further the changing paradigms that will lead to cures and more effective treatments for immune and related disorders.
