New Directions for Women Luncheon
Join us for the Boca Raton annual New Directions for Women Luncheon benefiting National Jewish Health, the leading respiratory hospital in the nation. The luncheon will raise funds to support research and treatment, including heart and lung diseases that affect women.
Guest Speaker Martha Hall Kelly
Martha Hall Kelly is the author of “Lilac Girls,” an instant New York Times bestseller based on the true story of 72 Polish women who were imprisoned and experimented on at Ravensbruck Concentration Camp in Germany. Through the efforts of American socialite and philanthropist Caroline Ferriday, many of the survivors came to America for medical treatment and those who suffered with respiratory issues were cared for at National Jewish Health. Kelly holds journalism degrees from both Syracuse and Northwestern Universities and raised three wonderful children, who are now mostly out of the nest. The first of two prequels to “Lilac Girls” is due out ths spring.
Patient Speaker Jill Deutch
Jill Deutch is the Director of Development for Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach. She is a self-proclaimed challah baking expert , fundraising mom and professional who is obsessed with family, Israel, her dog and reading. Jill holds two master’s degrees, is involved in many community organizations and sits on the board of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and the Social Work Advisory Board of Florida Atlantic University. She and her husband Congressman Ted Deutch live in Boca Raton with their three children.
