Robert Love serves as the Group Director of Asset Based Lending (ABL) for Signature Bank, and has been with the organization since 2013. Upon joining the Bank, Robert was tasked with launching the Signature Bank ABL Lending Platform, which includes recruiting, origination, operations, and the development of the ABL credit policy. This year, the ABL group will be celebrating its 10-year anniversary.
Robert has spent his entire thirty-plus year career in asset based lending. Prior to Signature Bank, he was the head of asset based lending for Amalgamated Bank. Previous experience includes work with Royal Bank of Scotland/Citizens, CIT, General Electric (GE), and The Bank of New York (BNY) Commercial Corporation. Robert started his career as a field examiner, later working as an underwriter and portfolio manager at BNY before joining GE as an originator. At GE Commercial Finance, Robert sourced more than $1.5 billion in new asset based volume for the East Region, won the Imagine award for creative structuring, and earned a Green Belt Quality certification in Lean Six Sigma.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New York University. He grew up in Astoria, Queens, and now lives in Massapequa, NY. Robert has been married to his wife, Kim, for 29 years and has two children, Gabrielle and Christopher.
