Pediatric Patient Stories

Patients visit our campus at National Jewish Health every day, seeking our expert care for allergies, asthma and other respiratory illnesses. Here are a few examples of our pediatric patient stories and how our cutting-edge research and compassionate care is changing the lives of many.

Davis Silcox

Davis Silcox hated how eczema and food allergies made him feel. For four and a half years, he and his family struggled with sleepless nights and a severely restricted diet. After a 10-day appointment at National Jewish Health, he and his family have a “new life.” Read Davis' story.

Lucie Karazim

Caeleb MacDonald is one of a handful of people in the world allergic to the only medication that can treat his hemophilia. Unable to receive a blood-clotting factor, he suffers unstoppable bleeding in his joints. Read how National Jewish Health helped find a novel treatment for Caeleb's condition.

Tye Adams

Tye Adams, 7, received his first breathing treatments when he was 2 months old. By the time he turned 2 years old, Tye was in and out of the hospital with pneumonia, and his doctor in Texas was running out of treatment options for his asthma, sinus and reflux problems. The family wasn’t sure where to turn next when a friend recommended they look into National Jewish Health. Read Tye's story.
