Transport specimen to laboratory at or below 2 to 8°C.
Specimen is stable at 2 to 8°C for 1 week, -10 to -30°C for at least 1 month, or -60 to -90° for at least 1 year. Internal specimens may be transported at ambient temperature but must be stored at or below 2 to 8°C upon arrival at the laboratory.
This assay provides the differential detection of: Adenovirus, Coronaviruses 229E, HKU1,
NL63, OC43 Enterovirus, Rhinovirus, Human Metapneumovirus, Influenza A H1-Seasonal,
Influenza A H1-2009, Influenza A H3, Influenza B, Parainfluenza 1, 2, 3, and 4, RSV and
Enterovirus and Rhinovirus are reported collectively as they are not differentiated from
one another by this assay.
