Kat is an alum of University of Pittsburgh where she received a BA in Theatre and a BS in psychology. She completed her teacher licensure through Western State. In 2014 Kat earned her MA in Special Education from the University of Colorado, Denver. She has a special education teaching license with an elementary education endorsement. Previous to teaching at Morgridge Academy, Kat taught in Adams County 14, and at the Tennyson center for Children. Kat has taught 3rd and 4th grade at National Jewish Health since 2008. She has also served as the Positive Behavior Support coach.
Kat is passionate about encouraging students to explore their interests and works to cultivate a growth mindset in her classroom. She engages her children in a wide variety of learning experiences and loves to take students on interactive field trips. Kat believes that students must feel, safe, respected, and cared about in order to learn and endeavors to ensure that every student knows that they are important and valued.
