Special Interests

Dr. Frankel’s primary focus is how to provide our patients with the highest quality, patient-centered care anywhere, reliably, efficiently, and consistent with the “National Jewish way.” He is committed to making sure our patients received both evidence-based best practice and individualized, precision medicine. Dr. Frankel works closely with all of our care partners and inpatient facilities to assure that our patients are cared for throughout the entire continuum of care, both inpatient and outpatient, and that careful attention is paid to the transitions between these domains and care coordination. Ultimately, Dr. Frankel’s core mission is making sure we meet the care needs of our patients and our community.

Academically, Dr. Frankel is a nationally-recognized expert in interstitial lung diseases and vasculitis, and he is an integral part of the National Jewish Interstitial Lung Disease Program. Over the course of his career he has been involved in basic science, translational and clinical research in both interstitial lung disease and critical care medicine. Presently, his primary academic focus is on health service delivery, continuous quality improvement, and health care policy.
