Programs

  • Grants: The Basic Science Section and Clinical/Translational Research Section provide micro-grant opportunities for junior faculty to stimulate research and collaborations, for pilot research projects, and travel support.

  • Biostatistical support: MOOR provides our faculty with biostatistical support for their research and publications.

  • Educational Seminars: The Basic Science Section provides a world-class seminar series and methodology workshops aimed at showcasing cutting-edge research. The CTR section provides a clinical forum series to fine-tune the clinical researcher’s path to success and a forum for updating researchers on CTR activities.

  • MOOR Research CDC: Like other Departments, we support a Career Development Club to connect our DOM trainees to all of the programs at NJH, and to promote mentoring and networking opportunities for research trainees in the department.

  • Annual Research Retreat: Our retreat features an abstract writing competition with oral presentations of their winning abstracts, and a research poster competition.

  • Newsletter: the MOOR publishes a monthly newsletter with helpful tips for our research and clinical faculty.

  • Research Happy Hour: Each month, we co-host, with our Academic Affairs office, a Happy Hour event that features a 30-minute presentation from one of our Cores, programs, or fields of research, followed by lab tours and opportunities to stimulate collaboration.

  • Grant Writing Workshop Program: Led by Anthony Gerber, MD, PhD

    • The Grant Writing Workshops are designed to provide critical guidance and feedback for any level investigator. The workshops are interactive and feature hands-on mock reviews to help investigators attain a thorough understanding of the grant writing and review process.
