What is Otolaryngology?

Otolaryngology is pronounced oh/toe/lair/in/goll/oh/jee. Otolaryngologists are physicians who are trained in managing patients medically and surgically who have problems related to the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck.

Otolaryngologists are otherwise known as ENT (ear, nose & throat) physicians. Otolaryngologists also are divided into sub-specialties, meaning they have a particular focus on one or more aspects of these problems. The otolaryngologists at National Jewish Health specialize in nasal and sinus disorders (rhinology) and throat and voice disorders (laryngology).
