What Are Common Fall Allergens?

  • Weeds - Bottlebrush, Curly dock, Lamb’s Quarters (Pigweed), Ragweed, Sagebrush, Sheep's sorrel
  • Molds - Grow on fallen leaves, compost piles, grasses and grains, and in soil


5 Tips to Manage Fall Allergies

  • Stay indoors and keep windows closed from late-morning to mid-afternoon when weed pollen counts are highest. 
  • Wash away pollens immediately after coming in from outside. 
  • Wear a mask when raking leaves or using a leaf blower. 
  • Clean heat vents and change your furnace filter to remove mold or other allergens left over from summer. 
  • Avoid bonfire smoke, wood fireplaces and stoves, and dust on stored blankets.
