Tuberculosis Testing for Healthy Adults

Trial Objective

Tuberculosis Testing for Healthy AdultsThe purpose of this study is to determine if a new blood test known as the VIDAS Interferon Gama Release Assay (VIDAS TB-IGRA)  is effective at diagnosing tuberculosis in people who show no symptoms of the disease. Researchers are comparing VIDAS TB-IGRA with other diagnostic tests known to accurately detect latent tuberculosis in traditionally healthy adults who are at a low risk for the infection. If researchers can swiftly identify TB in its inactive state, they can proactively begin treatment and substantially reduce the risk of patients developing the active disease.
