Can Weight Loss Improve COPD Symptoms?

Trial Objective

The purposes of this study is to understand the relationship between chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and high body mass index (BMI).

Can Weight Loss Improve COPD Symptoms?

Our researchers are trying to determine if a lifestyle program designed to help patients exercise more and lose weight also helps improve their COPD symptoms. The study also will determine if the lifestyle program positively effects shortness of breath and other quality-of-life factors that increase patients’ risk for heart disease.
