Overview: Students will demonstrate an understanding of why clean air is important after reading a short story and observing pictures. Students will be able to identify some of the causes of air pollution, including solutions on how to prevent it.
Activities: Discuss air.  Why we need it? How do people, animals, plant use air?  Discuss pollution.  Discuss photographs from the book Why is the Air Dirty.  Have students draw a picture of a town with and without air pollution that incorporates what they have learned. Complete worksheet "What You Can Do to Prevent AIr Pollution."
