Beaux Arts ‘Moulin Rouge’ Ball Raises Over $2 Million to Benefit National Jewish Health

MARCH 03, 2022

DENVER, CO — On February 26, 2022, the 25th Anniversary of the Beaux Arts Ball presented by the Morgridge Family Foundation raised over $2 million to support National Jewish Health, the leading respiratory hospital in the nation. The event honored Grand Marshals Robin and Senator John Hickenlooper, Karen and John Ikard, Terry and Vic Lombardi, Michele and Richard Right, and Maja and Mark Rosenquist for their long time commitment to philanthropy and service to the community.

“This is the highest recognition of community leadership and humanitarian service that National Jewish Health bestows annually to those who are really making a difference for our communities,” said National Jewish Health President and CEO, Michael Salem, MD. “Our Grand Marshals have been generous with their time and support. We also were humbled to have Grand Marshals from the past 25 years in attendance to help mark this milestone anniversary.”

Following a theme of “Moulin Rouge,” the guests enjoyed an extravagant vintage French cabaret decor throughout the ballroom. As they entered the room, they were greeted and entertained with characters and dancers who embodied the Moulin Rouge cabaret setting.

During the evening’s program, guests learned about the challenges facing Brandi, a young woman who contracted COVID-19 early on in the pandemic, suffering debilitating symptoms that greatly impaired her stamina and cognitive function. After a year of seeking answers elsewhere, Brandi found The Center for Post-COVID Care and Recovery at National Jewish Health. Through a multi-disciplinary team approach, her care team was able to evaluate the “whole person” and help Brandi get back to working, being a wife and mother, and enjoying life again. Brandi, along with other patients with ongoing COVID symptoms, continue to be evaluated through research and treatment while new discoveries are being made with this disease.

Among the dignitaries attending the event and in addition to Senator John Hickenlooper, who was honored as a Grand Marshal, were Colorado U.S. Representative Ed Perlmutter and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock.

In addition to the Presenting Sponsor Morgridge Family Foundation, The Baer Family, and Iris and Michael Smith were the Moulin Rouge Theme Sponsors. Lindsey and Stanton Dodge, FirstBank and Karen and John Ikard were the Platinum Sponsors.
