Collaborations Improve Care, Extend Reach in Colorado and Nation Make an Appointment Make a Donation Contact Us National Jewish Health | Saint Joseph Hospital In 2016, the Joint Operating Agreement between National Jewish Health and Saint Joseph Hospital, with its nonprofit parent SCL Health, is flourishing. Working together with the excellent staff of Saint Joseph Hospital, National Jewish Health doctors and staff have extended our ability to provide care along the full continuum from outpatient clinics based on the National Jewish Health campus to intensive inpatient care based at the new 365-bed, state-of-the-art Saint Joseph Hospital. The Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program, the largest of its kind in the nation, is based on the National Jewish Health campus and now includes a fully integrated, specialized inpatient care unit on the campus of Saint Joseph Hospital. This inpatient unit was designed specifically to meet the unique needs of cystic fibrosis patients. With both inpatient and outpatient care now managed by National Jewish Health physicians and staff from both organizations, adult cystic fibrosis patients receive well-integrated, comprehensive care. The cardiothoracic surgery clinic continued to demonstrate the power of collaboration. Thoracic surgeons from our academic partner the University of Colorado School of Medicine, now see patients on the main National Jewish Health campus and perform surgery in state-of-the-art facilities at Saint Joseph Hospital. This collaboration allows us to deliver a seamless experience for patients. National Jewish Health critical care physicians manage care in the hospital’s intensive care unit, and work with their colleagues to provide extended physician coverage 24 hours a day. Quality measures continue to be outstanding for the collaborative programs. This past year, Saint Joseph Hospital, long a top-rated hospital by Healthgrades, has also earned the A rating from The Leapfrog Group, a widely watched hospital quality indicator.
