If you have been diagnosed with asthma, you should know that five to 10% of the world''s population is affected by asthma. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute reports that the prevalence of asthma around the world has doubled in the last 15 years. And, asthma ranks among the most common chronic conditions in the United States. There are two components that cause asthma: constriction of the airways and inflammation. National Jewish Health Health is conducting a clinical research trial on an experimental medication being tested as a treatment for airway inflammation in people with asthma.
To be eligible you must:
Be 18-65 years of age
Have a history of asthma for at least 6 months
Be a non-smoker
Not have used inhaled steroids with in the past month
